Bootcamp fitness offers you an intense workout in a group environment. Lead by one fitness instructor, you'll be put through the paces, moving from one activity to another with little or no rest between sets. You'll be toning your muscles and working your heart at the same time.
Bootcamp fitness classes traditionally use a variety of equipment like mats, bosu balls, hand weights, weighted bars, and stairs; but the routines vary from class to class. |

The name "bootcamp" comes from those military-style workouts — one instructor leading an intense workout for new recruits. A bootcamp class offers participants high-intensity workouts that challenge the entire body. A typical routine in the gym works a couple of muscle groups at a time, but in a bootcamp you move rapidly from one exercise to another with little rest between movements. So, you're getting a good cardiovascular workout while you tone and firm your muscles.
Bootcamp Fitness Alleviates Boredom
When you're using the stair climber or doing multiple sets of the same exercise, you're fighting boredom. But a bootcamp class will have you moving quickly, so, there's no time to get bored.
Bootcamp Workouts Offer Aerobic and Muscle Toning
A traditional workout requires 45 minutes of lifting weights followed by 30 minutes of cardio. But a bootcamp class gets you doing both at the same time, so you're getting a harder routine in less time.
Bootcamp Workouts Burn Calories
Moving rapidly from one workout to another doesn't give your body much of a rest; and working both upper and lower body at the same time brings on big calorie burns. A good bootcamp session will burn upwards of 600 calories; whereas a treadmill might only burn up 300 to 400 calories.
Bootcamp Workouts Build Confidence
Whether you're using the rest of the class or your own last workout as a measurement, the bootcamp class is going to help you feel a sense of accomplishment. You'll see improvements in your stamina and agility with each class.
